There is a path, but it would require using advanced weapon systems in a "scorched earth" effort.

No governments involved, besides Russia, can convince it's population that "Bigger Israel" Jewkraine is worth sparking a regional-world war to save it.

Appears to have been a NATO plan to exterminate the Ukrainians while degrading Russia as a bonus. Turns out to have been exactly what Russia needed to finally recover from the 90s.
