My concern is Russia playing this tit for tat game. They're either trying to appear weaker than they are, or they actually are that weak. The problem is that invites escalation from NATO, as we're seeing.
If it's bait with a viable plan to ultimately crush NATO, then let's keep our fingers crossed that they've thought it through.
