Sometimes I feel more at home in my truck than I do in my home. Sometimes I just go sit in it to listen to music and drink a few beers in the driveway. Kinda redneck, but I don't give a shit. It's fuckin comfortable.

I used to go out to the Gandy bridge Redneck Riviera back in the good old days when the water there wasn’t full of shit and white trash to pull in the truck backwards, sit on the tailgate with the music blasting, and catch trout and redfish all day while having a few beers.

I dunno, bro. I have a tacoma with double cab, short bed. Have the trac racks on it with extended support over the cab. I have built three houses with it, carry 24' pick and alumapole staging on the racks, tow a Kubota B7510 with backhoe on it on a 18' big tex dual axle trailer ..nothing really I can't do with my tacoma. Fucking thing has 207K miles on it now, starting to nickel and dime me some, but still runs like a top

I’ve always had a truck and usually two at a time. One work truck, one personal. I haven’t owned a car since 1995 and that was short lived.
Also, a truck isn’t worth a shit without a lumber rack. Even if you don’t haul lumber, it’s something to tie a dresser off to or some such thing. I’ve had my new truck since September and still haven’t had anything on its $1200 lumber rack.

On a related note - who in their right mind buys an RV? They're expensive as fuck, and everyone lets it sit for a year or two before their next trip and the engine is ruined.

Buy a pickup and a travel trailer instead, it's the same price if not cheaper, and you get so much more use out of the truck by itself. And the truck serves as your drive-around while your trailer is parked at the camp site.

and an 08 f150

The toyota just works, never done nothing but start and drive the last 7 years of owning it. Bought the Ranger but that thing sucks gas like a whore.. love the truck but the mpg to power ratio isn't good. So I bought the F150 since it gets just about damn near the same MPG as the Ranger pulling my landscape trailer. Never thought I'd own a full size pickup but now that I do I love it.. didn't think I'd ever own an automatic again either but it was all that I could find and honestly probably better off for some of the stuff I do with a trailer attached.

Also have 2 dual sports to boot. The 50mpg+ of the bikes offsets the ~15mpg of the picksup

They do. But also, I've got a TBSS which is body-on-frame, so technically a truck, but really the only thing it hauls is ass. (It can tow 6,000lbs, but you don't get one for the towing capacity.)
