Need help with Jalapeno pepper

submitted by Conspirologist to Food 1 weekApr 22, 2024 11:41:37 ago (+5/-5)     (Food)

Today I've tried hot pepper for the first time, because I am hot pepper intolerant.

Turns out pickled green Jalepeno tastes good and is not very hot.

The Jalapeno I've tried was pikcled.

If I liked the pickled green Jalapeno, would you suggest me to try it without pickle, or try the red Jalapeno? Or is the pickled version less hot?

You could try mezzeta sweet banana peppers or mezetta hot chili peppers. Good with sandwiches.

Thanks a lot. I see they are both graded just 1 of hot scale, like Jalapeno.

You're welcome.

IMHO anything above a Heat Rating of 6 is just punishment. No eats Ghost Peppers, and Carolina Reapers for the taste.

Habaneros (which I see dude has at a 5) have a delightful, smoky flavor.

If there's anything worth eating beyond that, I haven't heard of it.

Heat is great and not at the expense of flavor.

Habaneros were hot enough to upset my stomach when I roasted and ate them, but they were still tasty. I don't see any benefit from eating hotter than that, other than to say "I ate something retardly hot", and I just don't care enough about other people to bother.

I know. I've seen videos of people really suffering after eating really hot peppers.

The fresh green ones are less hot. Make sure you leave the seeds in, they cut the heat in half.

This, and try habanero if you want something less hot than jalap.

Why are you recommending something that spicy when he could go with something milder like a bhut jolokia?

OP LOVES TO TASTE THE BHUT!

That might be a bit much. He should try Carolina Reaper instead. Scorpion Pepper is another good option, and tastes better than either.

The pith is the hottest part, which gets mostly removed when deseeding if not careful. I recall the seeds are not hot at all, but apparently they have some capsaicin in them: https://pepperscale.com/eating-pepper-seeds/

The very miracle remedy that helped him stop complaining about his massive hemorrhoids.

You should consider suicide.

I shit you not. If you eat something that was too spicy eat straight yellow mustard to cool the heat.
