Hello and thanks to Sleazy for opening the thread.

We lost Dicky Betts at 80 years old. So, how about this track:

That's just the guitar parts, no bass included. It is also from quite some time ago, when looking for easy things for the future-missus to play. So, it's not that complicated if you want to learn the rhythm. The lead takes a bit more skill but you can learn it in a weekend.

The rhythm is pretty easy. The lead is less easy, but it's fun.

You can tell a couple of things from this recording. She was still new to the guitar and we were still new to recording. Our production skills have improved thanks to the FNGT.

The rhythm is missing some timing a bit and lacks clarity in other areas. In the mix, it's also too soft.

So, even we get better because of the FNGT. I'm quite serious when I say regular contributions will make you a better musician.

We've reached the point where our productions are usually pretty good. They're quite good (if I don't mind saying so myself) when we take time than normal in the mix. So, there's that...

Yup. None of the chords are all that challenging and it's something you can learn to play even as a fairly new guitar player. The lead is a bit more challenging but the rhythm is something anyone can figure out. Some of the timing might be a bit tricky for a new person, but that's what practice is for.

So I have this song in my head in in my fingers that I just can not seem to come up with the right words for. I play this nearly every day at least once, hoping some lyrics will come to mind, but they haven't yet. I decided to record it while I played it yesterday to see how it sounds when I am not busy playing it and see if any words come to mind. Nope

I can hear vocal melodies in my head but it sounds so pretty the words have to be right, like every line almost needs to be iconic on its own, with that musical melody behind it. In my mind anyways LoL

I really gotta get something going. I have a few guitars and a mandolin, but the oldest gal is an old Yamaha that was made in the late 80's. Her neck is as twisted as a pig's dick but I'll be god damned if it doesn't sound amazing. Fuckin thing never goes out of tune either. I swear, it's the damnedest thing, but I haven't tuned it in years and it's dead on. I've tried to tune it up, it just never needs it.

That guitar hurts to play, but it's pretty special.

Given the age, it probably wouldn't be too hard to fix well enough to play. You just need some patience and some tools. If it's as twisted as you describe, it will require a refret.

Nicely done. That first one sounded familiar, was that in one of the compilations the past couple weeks? I like that it got more rocking as it went on, but some of that is just begging for vocals or at least a bitching guitar solo!

I left room for vocals on these. I shared them previously in FNGT, I think. In some form or another.

I've started work on another album, with vocals more in mind. Generally, I'll make about 40 tracks and decide which ones are best.

That thing is a 100 dollar white mitchell jumbo with a twisted neck that I just love to play. It isn't even worth fixing or buying a jumbo case for but I swear it has that magic.
