thats where it starts getting hard and i can finally do it, iam so stupid it never occured to me i could use a claw technique i use to play chords without strumming could also be used to play 2 notes on the same string but you can, you need to do a quick mexican wave with your fingers

this is the section i finally learned how to play, it looked impossible 20 years ago but now with older eyes it seems much easier.

cool. Thats one thing about the guitar, things that seem impossible become possible if you practice them every day, even if you suck at it, a month later you will be a little better, then another month after that you will be even better, then after another month, as long as you have worked at it every day, it becomes second nature. And then you will be doing the impossible

I still can't do the tremelo de la alhambra requires, i've been trying to play that for a month now and my tremelo still sucks, thats why i moved to leyanda because its only a double tremelo instead of a triple tremelo.

at least its helping to stop me using my pink as an anchor

COF, and we still miss him, did a beautiful job archiving everything. That made me lax. He's been dead and gone for a while now but I still regularly use his archives.

That's a fun song. It's also known as "Asturias" (I think I spelled that properly) and a good piece to impress people. I have a copy around here somewhere but I can't find it and my bandwidth sucks donkey balls right now.

Hello everybody. My buddy Chris came over last night for a couple of hours and we jammed out loud as we could. Like an idiot, I screwed up the recording of us jamming, recorded it all with the shitty built in mic on my laptop instead of using the quality mic that plugs in.

Anyways, we were just jamming out some of the songs we had written.

My son and a friend just got pulled over for suspicious driving and they said my sons third brake light was out and he does not have insurance, and then they made them wait there 20 minutes for a drug dog to arrive and then my sons friend told the cops that there is weed in the car and it belongs to my son, when it was his.

I made this little album as an homage to life in Coronado, California, often referred to as "Coronado Island", though, technically is a man-made Islet. Tracks are, of course, references to features of Coronado.

If you've been following FNGT, you've already heard most of these.

In Islet, I have even used a borrowed Fender Coronado for the lead in the titular track. But, it is not nearly as comfortable to me as the Stratocasters I have had for years, so I did revert back to those. The acoustic is Gibson Dove. I used two basses, the Fender Jazz bass a la Aston Barrett and a Fender P Bass a la James Jamerson. Not that I am as good as them, but I do love the sound of their instruments. Keyboards are my own synths where I have attempted to replicate some of the classic sounds from reggae and R&B.

islet's got a real chill caribbean sense to it.

Silver strand was absolutely fantastic. Almost western, but with a modern south-american feel, like a b-side gustavo santaolalla. Very well done.

Thanks for listening. That's mainly what I was going for... a slight twist on an island sound... an islet sound.

Silver Strand was an attempt to express how I felt driving down the empty beach strip back in the day. It used to be the most relaxing beach drive, but now there are always tons of people.

But, back then, you are always headed somewhere good, for a good reason, if you were driving it. The pause before the fun.

A location helps me frame the style. But, also any preferred stylistic elements... fx, instruments, etc.
