Gibson sucks. I bought a new SG bass last year, it was full of flaws. Sent it back. Bought the same Epiphone version for 1/4 of the price, it was flawless and sounded great.
I love my Gibsons but I also loved my old Les Paul Special II Epi- thing was free, built like a tank, played great and sounded nasty but in a good way.
My Gibsons I've had to dump money into. Like recently about $1000 between a 1990 Les Paul Classic and a 2002 SG Special Faded with the ebony board and 🌙 inlays. The 2002-2004 Special faded is the best bang for your buck if anybody is trying to get into a Gibson.
I have 5 DeArmond branded guitars I'll put up against any Gobson, any time. Fender bought Guild in 99, and rebranded them for 2 years. DeArmond pickups, fit and finish done at the Fender Cali plant. Absolute killer guitars for 1/4 the cost of a Gubson.
