Eclipse caught me off guard today.

submitted by JudyStroyer to TellUpgoat 1.2 yearsApr 8, 2024 22:55:10 ago (+29/-3)     (TellUpgoat)

I knew it was coming, and i commented on this thread : https://www.voat.xyz/viewpost?postid=6614436ea811e
but was planning on making a thread sharing this experience that completely caught me by surprise and is the closest thing to a spiritual experience i have ever had. I live dead center of the path and i didnt think it was going to be a big deal before it happened. After seeing what i saw and feeling what i felt, it was easily one of the greatest experiences of my life and it completely caught me off guard. We homeschool our kids and we were just out in the yard hanging out and watching it begin through the glasses. But man, when totality hit, i tried to record it, and after about 20 seconds i just put my phone down because there was something just so captivating about the whole thing, and my inner voice said just said “no, just soak this up” and im glad i did. At the center if it you could see a twilight area 360deg around you. The planets were in view as well during all of this. You will never ever see a picture that shows you what i saw. The moon was surrounded by an indescribable bluish glow that felt electric and almost divine with the suns glow from behind. The solar flares that were visible were almost like looking at a super high res image on a computer screen. It was just surreal. Once the sun came back into view, the very first sliver made it seem like you were in a room with a somewhat dim lighbulb over in the corner. That then got progressively brighter and then all seemed normal. I never in a million years expected to feel the way i felt during and after that. Ive been near eclipses before with some varying degrees of darkness but never like this. Cool stuff. Really cool stuff.

The natural world tends to put you in your place. Humbling.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:28:31 ago (+1/-0)

Extremely humbling.

The first glimpse of sunlight after totality was ending was amazing. It was this tiny amazingly bright light at the edge (I looked directly).

[ - ] Rowdybme 4 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 00:18:38 ago (+4/-0)

Here's my video. I know it's shit. I had to keep putting the phone down to check on the kids. Some idiot drove down our street in the middle of it. But I caught it on camera right when it hit totality and right after it left. First 2 mins is just me bitching about clouds. But the second it hit, it passed the clouds.https://youtu.be/fQdRR9Fy78w?feature=shared

That's actually really good.

Everybody skip to the 2min 30second mark

Totality lasted longer for you than it did me in 2017 I think.

Fuckin sweet man, thanks for sharing!

Nature and astronomy are far more spiritual than dusty old books about sand merchants.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 3 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:18:18 ago (+3/-0)

Couldnt agree more. Always felt that inside. My father and grandfather were Estonian, and they always explained to me that they worshipped nature, and i get it.

[ - ] texasblood -1 points 1.2 yearsApr 11, 2024 08:49:47 ago (+0/-1)

That would be the ever popular pagan trend.
Both concepts are from the fallen angels referenced in the Bible.
You worship in both deed and word

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 11, 2024 14:06:22 ago (+1/-0)

The jews will tell you not to try any spiritual practice that could give you the power to stop them.

[ - ] texasblood 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 11, 2024 19:18:01 ago (+0/-0)

25yrs to late for that.
I've seen them side step me if we eye lock in passing.
I don't yield,we drive on the right in the US.
Fuck all the walmart drivers, they done lost

[ - ] germ22 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 19:34:09 ago (+1/-0)

I drove many hours to see it. And it very much caught me off guard how emotional I got from witnessing it. I'm usually pretty stoic.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 19:54:07 ago (+0/-0)

Same. Im not one to participate in “doing things” in general. Id rather stay at home and do my own thing.

@JudyDestroyer...I'm just 60miles north of Niagara Falls on a project (which they shut down for the eclipse) and yeah it got dark and there was just a sliver of the sun visible and buddy who lives in Niagara told me that stars were visible with the darkness but to be honest I found nothing spiritual about it..I sill fucking hate pretty much everything and I'm still a fucking rude asshole to pretty well everyone...but come to think it, I did yell out a few more obscenities than usual whenever I came to an intersection that was swarming with shitskins, huh, maybe there was some kind of solar-celestial influence that I just didn't pick up on....BUT AS LONG AS IT RINGS YOUR BELL, GO FOR IT.

[ - ] Rowdybme 4 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 00:35:25 ago (+4/-0)

It really doesn't hit unless you're in the path of totality. Period

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:50:09 ago (+1/-0)

Exactly. I never understood this till i saw it for myself.

[ - ] Crackinjokes 2 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:00:48 ago (+2/-0)

Having even a sliver of the sun still shining totally destroys the effect. So you did not really see an eclipse. You saw a partial eclipse and the little bit blinded your eyes to all the other stuff you would have seen had it been totally dark. Next time call in sick and go drive the 50 or 100 miles to go see the whole thing.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:51:55 ago (+1/-0)

This is solid advice that i would have called retarded before experiencing it for myself.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 07:55:20 ago (+0/-0)

Ive been there for just a sliver, and believe me it is not the same as being dead center of totality. I live right by the area near the intersection of ny vt and canada. Everything was basically normal and whatever until the sun was completely gone. It was crazy because in the past year and a half my father passed away and we have a new daughter, she is 6 months old. The whole thing felt like a very quick acid trip, causing me to reflect on things that have been kept inside. It. Was. Weird. Ill never forget it.

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 10:48:35 ago (+1/-0)

In 14 months you can do it again somewhere.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 11:11:41 ago (+1/-0)

Yeah but the just outside in my yard aspect of it was sweet. I would have never traveled even a half hour to see prior. I also would have called myself retarded for typing what i typed prior to experiencing that shit. Someone else said the next close one is 2044 and will pass over miami. Probably wont make that one so this may be the only one i ever got to see in my lifetime. I wont be getting on any airplanes.

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 23:17:11 ago (+1/-0)

Sometimes we see something that is profound and it changes us. I've been there and its awesome seeing something incredible. I watch a huge whale surface once near our boat and it had that effect on me but eclipses do too.

[ - ] Crackinjokes 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 07:54:46 ago (+1/-0)

I saw the 2017 one.

Didn't quite get the same overwhelming feelings you did but it was definitely cool.

Yes it's far better to just watch it rather than try to record it with your camera. I set up a camera on a tripod and left it on and didn't bother looking through it so I could watch it myself.

If you're ever near the path of totality it's definitely worth going out of your way to go see one. I think there is one more coming up in 2044 that's close by the USA.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 07:10:42 ago (+1/-0)

I had band practice, we all ignored it

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 07:56:23 ago (+0/-0)

You guy’s probably needed it huh? Jk bud.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:12:28 ago (+1/-0)

It was a first rehearsal with amazing guitarist I've wanted to jam with for months, 4 hours straight, lots of fun was had

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:30:04 ago (+0/-0)

Fuckin awesome man! I wish i were in a band. I just play my guitar by myself.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:32:51 ago (+0/-0)

Being in a band is 95% pain in the ass, 5% fun. You aint missing much, if anything.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:54:54 ago (+0/-0)

Well, what I actually want is just some other people to jam with. Ive heard some bullshit that has come from being in a band and i hear you there. Its just playing by myself gets boring.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 09:17:00 ago (+1/-0)

Since I am used to jammin with others, playing alone is boring and I barely do it. One way to keep it interesting is to branch out to other instruments. Buy a $60 violin and learn from videos, I did that recently and it's fun in a horrible way. Same with keyboards.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 09:28:35 ago (+0/-0)

Thanks for the advice. I have some drums and a keyboard. I used the keyboard to help me learn theory and chords etc since its nicely laid out chromatically. The drums have been put away for now until i get the music room built by my shop. 6 month olds and drums dont mix very well. Its really funny that you mentioned violin because i have been floating around the idea of getting one. I think its a sign that i just should do it.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 09:47:36 ago (+1/-0)

Do it. It's hard to lern but also interesting and challenging. Everyone plays guitar, almost no one plays fiddle. You will stand out, and easily find people that want you to join them.

ProTip: the normal acoustic violin is LOUD, it rests right next to your ear. I found it super annoying, so I bought a $100 electric violin. It's a solid body, so 1/3rd as loud. Makes practicing much more bearable. Once I'm good, I can play it thru the PA or an amp, or go back to the acoustic violin.

As for videos, wade thru the beginner stuff. Some teachers are great, others talk too much. The Tune Project on YT is good, she is a calm teacher and nice to look at. Pro-Am Strings is also good.

I was in the path too. Got some good video. But kinda shitty too since I was my kids and kept putting the phone down to look. Did you see the pink Bailey beads?

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:20:54 ago (+0/-0)

Bailey beads? Not sure what that is but i remember seeing the solar flare at the bottom and those redish dots. The detail was nuts. Almost like sseing it in real life! Lol

[ - ] Sleazy 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 8, 2024 23:45:00 ago (+1/-1)

what is so spiritual about being in the shadow of the moon? I don't get it

[ - ] dulcima 7 points 1.2 yearsApr 8, 2024 23:46:43 ago (+7/-0)

Nature is greater than man.

[ - ] Sleazy 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 00:06:54 ago (+1/-0)

man is nature

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 2 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 00:17:59 ago (+2/-0)

Then maybe you should experience more of it.

[ - ] Sleazy 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 00:35:36 ago (+1/-0)

Thats funny. I missed eclipse, I missed the shadow, is all. I love nature. Songbirds sing outside my bedroom window every morning and that is how I start the day. I go out on my porch and play my guitar and the birds and squirrels and chipmunks and snakes and bunnies all gather round

[ - ] Sleazy 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 00:11:34 ago (+0/-0)

Thats cool, good for you. I forgot it was today but I was not in line anyways.

[ - ] Prairie 2 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 02:34:16 ago (+2/-0)

In the most basic sense it's a novel experience. Routine experiences we tend to normalize and stop seeing, literally be unable to perceive aspects of them.

[ - ] Sleazy 2 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 03:04:21 ago (+2/-0)

now that I can understand

thank you

[ - ] Belfuro 2 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 06:01:31 ago (+2/-0)

The moons radius is 108 harmonic human male paces

Multiply this by the diameter of the sun in human paces (864 harmonic) and you get the average distance between the earth and the sun.

Incredibly you can do the inverse to get the distance between the earth and the moon.

If you multiply the circumference of the earth to the moons you get the circumference of the sun.

The sun is 400x further than the moon is to earth yet 400x bigger.

None of this is by coincidence.

The ratio of the size of the moon to the earth is 27.3%
The number of days the moon takes to orbit the earth is 27.3 days.

And. There is way more.

And all this geometry is encoded in the dimensions of the great pyramid at giza.

Get spiritual because sure as shit it's been kept from you by Satan worshippers you know who

[ - ] Sleazy 2 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 06:13:29 ago (+2/-0)

it's an artificial structure

[ - ] Crackinjokes 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:05:02 ago (+0/-0)

That's pretty amazing.

[ - ] Crackinjokes 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:02:44 ago (+1/-0)

First of all you see the stars in a way you've never seen them before. You also see planets that are close to the Sun like Mercury and Venus that you really can't see in total darkness usually because Venus for example is only really seen just before and after sunrise and sunset. So it's always sort of half bright. But the big thing is you see the Halo of the Sun and all the fire and electrical prominences coming off the Sun that you normally cannot see because the regular light is too bright and comparatively blinds you. It makes the sun look like a living animal with like tentacles. And suddenly you realize that bright thing in the sky you have seen forever as status is actually a very vibrant moving changing thing right above your head.

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 09:05:05 ago (+0/-0)

Excellent post! You captured what i saw and remember very well. As strange as it sounds, this whole thing changed a part of me. How i see the world we live on, the universe we live in. I am a part of it. The living animal sun hits hard. Thats what i saw. It was very blue and majestic.

[ - ] Sleazy 0 points 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 20:00:25 ago (+0/-0)

excellent description, thank you

[ - ] JudyStroyer [op] 1 point 1.2 yearsApr 9, 2024 08:25:58 ago (+1/-0)

I 100% would have called anyone a faggot that wrote what i wrote had i never experienced it. Im not a “wow what an experience” kind of guy at fucking all. Like i said, this shit completely caught me off guard. I was working on a 4wheeler motor in my shop and my kids came out and i just went to hang with them and answer any questions they had and was totally unimpressed up until there was zero sun visible. I am a misanthrope and i hate virtually everything and everyone. This was something else entirely. Trying my best to explain, but yeah.

The black sun you dipshit is not our current sun.
Baphomet and possibly moloch

Satan worship. The God epstein worshipped. (child sacrifice)

Their sun was jupiter. Yes the earth was born of Saturn.
The evidence remains in our Axial tilts.

Our solar system is the result of the merger of three suns

And jews, kaballah ones. Worship aliens that are hostile to humanity because they are aliens.
