He's the insidious part. The article points out three key pieces to this: a new law that limits overtime (drivers generally soak in a lot of overtime), unpaid wages, and the fact that the positions are related to driving/transportation.

The article blames birthrate, just like they blame birthrate everywhere that they throw in temporary foreign workers for undesirable entry level labour jobs.

It's not birthrate. It's the fact that driver's don't make a competitive wage and may not even make a living wage based on inflation / rising house prices. It's a key part of the infrastructure but they aren't being offered pay in accordance to their importance. The job just doesn't seem 'prestigious' enough to be earning the same amount as white collar work, therefore the pay is suppressed to the point that only desperate people looking for work take it on.

It's like the "skilled trade shortage" in Canada/USA. It's not that you couldn't convince people to fill those roles, it's that the wages are too low (and OT too suppressed) for people to consider that as a serious career path. Suddenly you are hiring foreign workers for cheap (partly because of subsidies).

There's a game being played here that can easily be fixed by giving people fair wages. Call it a minimum wage for key infrastructure (Starbucks staff / frill positions not included)

I worked with a guy who had a son in the Navy a couple years ago. He was stationed in Okinawa. There is such a dearth of men in their 20s that when his son and buddies would go to clubs they would just be swarmed with horny jap girls. The way the clubs work is that the men pay for a table and if the girls want to sit at a table they have to get the approval of the men and also buy the drinks. It was the complete opposite of the States. And this kid was just drowning in pussy. He said the worst thing you could do is actually date one of these women though. According to him they are on an entirely different level of crazy.

If I was a young guy and had some time and excess cash I'd probably go donate some dna. It would be a lot better for Japan to have a generation of happas to carry on than importing niggers, their deficiencies and whatever monstrosity comes from that admixture of genetics.

Japan does not have the people to fill the jobs to maintain their industrial economy. I imagine some of those skilled workers will also be white people in Japan. Most of them just go about working which their visa is dependant on. Japan's bigger problem is the low birthrates. South Korea hospitals sometimes go months without a single child birth. China even worse. These countries are collapsing and need workers to fill the gap.
