Maybe one day we could have capitalism without republican democracy. Republican democracy just appoints a caste to fleece the market. The best you can do is replace them with other fleecers. You can get rid of capitalism and now you have absolute fleecers who you can't question. That is the difference between capitalism and anti-capitalism. In capitalism markets decide things, as in consumers. In anti-capitalism personalities decide things and in order for them to remain in that position they have to be unquestionable. Pure capitalism doesn't pursue the interests of big business because there is no political class to shape demand by mandating that consumers give companies business in ways consumers don't like. There is no one to tell you you must drive electric or that you must have health insurance or that bank must be propped up. So then consumers have the leverage to be the real decision makers of the market.
Either way no matter what system we have we always seem to hate the people in government. Maybe we should give them the least authority possible. Then even in a republic the business class can't use the political class to get whatever they want because the political class can't do much for them. The more authority you give the political class the more captured they will be.
