FYI: there is a low level civil war happening in Mexico. some particular cartels have openly and actively declared war on some sections of the Mexican Security Services. it's been going on for 5 maybe 10 years now.

I don't have the links on this computer, and I am too lazy to do a Google search. but you can see articles about it and get a good kind of introduction by browsing the internet.
