He taught the communists how to construct Ford vehicles and helped set up their factories. This was at a time when there was almost zero cars in Soviet Russia. People used the rail roads for transportation or more primitive means such as carriages. This contract with Ford helped change that and Soviet Russia benefited immensely from it. With a more effective means of transportation available, how much easier did the repression get for the Soviet state?
