It's easy, too. The PF Tek is a good entry method for newbies to try. Not the biggest yields with that method, but six cakes can produce enough to last one or two people a while.

Note that there are three states in which spores themselves are illegal. I'm currently living in one of them, and haven't grown any in a very long time.
