2-3 million incidents prevented a year (in America) merely by carrying. ~90%+ merely by showing would-be criminals that you are carrying.

Obviously don't get police involved if you have to show your piece, or they'll get ya for exposure or whatever.

Probably about the same you can develop a tolerance to pepper spray to the point where it is merely very uncomfortanle, but doesn’t incapacitate. Whenever I have sinusitis, I blast my finger tips with pepper spray and jam them up my nose to free the mucus. The only way it will stop me if you get me directly in my eyes, I can tolerate it on my face and nose when I’m sick, if I was truly pissed off that shit would have very little effect.

Bear spray would work, bur the canister is usually too big to use. The best thing a girl can have is a small handgun or if you’re worried about local laws, you can maybe get some sort of non-lethal air gun where you can doctor the bullets.

You are recommending doctoring the bullets in a non-lethal air gun? So a .177, .25 something like that? Those will bounce off a raccoon. Ask me how I know... need at least a .30 out of an air rifle to do the job on small game.

Says the guy that can't own a firearm. I'd recommend a .9 with a decent modern design like those little shields or whatever. A .380 with a blowback design with rip up your hands and will barely do the job.
