It's because they are literally US citizens - meaning they are under the immigration entry exit laws of the US border (if the Feds choose to enforce it).
Similar reason why the US govt didn't force illegals to have the vaccine - they're not 'officially' US citizens and not subject to another countries 'unlawful' policies something something.

This seems like a propaganda video to counter the fact that illegals are basically assisted entrance into the US by the border patrol. "See goys, we totally patrol the border, these White US citizens were even racially profiled and specifically targeted!"

Hipster guerilla journalist travels to Mexico to see what it's like to really cross into the US illegally via the Rio Grande, gets caught by border patrol because they were watching them for over an hour & used heat/infrared to find them, gets sent to illegal alien processing center for 4 days, had a felony (don't know exact charge) but the courts dropped the felony but he has to pay a $5000 fine - which is how much the Mexican Mules would've charged him & his camera guy - or so he claimed.
