I was thinking that this story would have been about Eric Rudolph, th Atlanta Olympic bomber. I lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains right where he supposably hid out in the woods for 4 years. Turns out, it was a fed psy-op. His summer hideout was on the ridge above the Walmart (never happened) and his winter hideout was just up the road from my home in nearby Hayesville.

He was actually just laying low with his girlfriend with whom he had a kid which still lives in Andrews, another nearby town. He was a friend of mine until I moved away.

I've got lots more dirt on this fake event.
