Two niggers were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up at its top. A White guy walked by and asked what they were doing...

"We're supposed to find the height of this flagpole," said Tyrone, "but we don't have a ladder."

The White guy took a wrench from his work bucket, loosened a couple of bolts and layed the pole down on the ground. Then he took a tape measure from his bucket, took a measurement and announced, "Twenty one feet, six inches," and walked away.

One nigger shook his head and laughed, "Typical honky! We ask for the height and he gives us the length!"

That or look for identifying marks or language on the flag pole and look up the manufacture on their sail foam to get the exact height.

Better system: Use a sextant to measure the angle from the horizon to the sun. Call this angle theta. Measure the length of the flagpole's shadow. Call this n. The height of the flagpole is tan(theta) * n.
