gonna be honest as a kid, i dreamed off this type of futuristic shit and i did so because i used to watch lots of sci fi shows and cartoons

fast forward, i learned about humanities evils since its inception and read the bible and nope out of all these dreams.

i mean i'm not agaisnt hearing aids, or glasses or any tech that can really help people but once you begin to tamper with the HUMAN DNA and the brain then that's where i draw the line.

all this tech is about altering what it means to be human and its geared to makes us like the borg or cattle that can be used and discarded at anytime.

i plan to leave this earth with my faulty DNA intact. any alterations will make you lose your salvation. remember as christians we believe in an upcoming bodily resurrection at the second coming of christ.

i see this tech as a step to try that from happening.

it means to have intelligence and to have a soul capable of worship God. animals dont have these characteristics. only humans can appreciate art, can build stuff like airplanes, boats, cars and can also create medicine and other stuff

there's also the fact that humans can understand or rather grasp the abstract.

show a Picasso to a bull and the animal will not understand what he's watching. granted higher animals seems to have some level of intelligence but theirs is pretty limited. also some animals can sense the spirit world better than humans but i dont think that despite this they cant fully understand it. they are deprived from reason for a reason, pardon my redundancy.

but that's for another topic.

humans can have empathy for each other and other animals, animals do not possess this feature. being human is having a spiritual, intellectual and emotional side that animals cannot possess

Reminds me of the Bruce Sterling novels with the Shapers and Mechanics. The Shapers use genetic engineering to enhance their bodies and the Mechanics use computer interfaces and AI.

Schismatrix Plus is the book with all the stories. It's pretty good I read it back in the 90's. Wouldn't mind re-reading it.
