US Government was lobbied for safer vehicles. Customers demanded luxuries and ability. My first brand new P/U was $6500 No radio, a/c or electric anything. It would fail Emissions and MPG standards of today. What we NEED is an "Experimental" category like in Aviation.

$6500? What year was that?

Depends on what's being modernized. If you just mean the visual style, that gets tried here and there and sometimes does ok. If you mean everything else, you probably can't because of regulations, and they probably wouldn't because the vehicles might actually last.

Too many regulations regarding bumper height, etc etc etc.

Cheap simple cars are illegal to make these days. They don't want you to have freedom of movement. Ride the bus with methy Malik and the other failures at life.

A 1934 automotive aesthetic is really going to stick out. I like the idea. Beats electric any day of the week.

no they only look 'forward'. Forget it.

There is some outfit somewhere in Ohio that will "70s retro" Ford trucks and the Broncos. I will never again buy an UAW made trash but they are kind neat to look at when you see one.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 0 points 4 monthsJan 14, 2024 21:49:50 ago (+0/-0)

Uh-huh, have you seen the prices?

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 0 points 4 monthsJan 15, 2024 08:13:10 ago (+0/-0)

I have not. Probably very stupid pricing. Like I said. No UAW trash for this guy.

That's already being done.

The SuperBeetle, the Jeep Cherokee, Ford Bronco, Ford Ranger, Dodge Challenger, etc etc

[ - ] RedBarchetta 0 points 4 monthsJan 14, 2024 10:44:30 ago (+0/-0)

And how much? A clean old Bronco is selling for $50K in good condition. $250K for restomod. Fuck that. Defeats the point. https://www.velocityrestorations.com/for-sale/classic-ford-bronco/

A brand new bronco is $55000, loaded.
