We've done something right: "Gen-Z doesn't care about sports. That's part of a bigger problem."

https://web.archive.org/web/20240107134754/https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/gen-z-doesn-t-care-about-sports-that-s-part-of-a-bigger-problem/ar-AA1mzQJ5?cvid=d284aa92d6f14aa692524aa1d8a568ac&ocid=winp2fptaskbarhover&ei=28#image=1

According to one 2021 study, only 23 percent of Generation Z describe themselves as passionate sports fans, as opposed to 42 percent of millennials, 33 percent of Generation X, and 31 percent of baby boomers. Further, a sizable 27 percent of Gen Z described themselves as “anti-sports,” compared with single-digit percentages from other generations saying the same.

Makes me wonder what the "bigger problem" is.

I personally love sports. As in, the actual doing of them. I was a successful athlete until a tragic shoulder injury. So now that I started with "I love sports" and got your autismo minds to sperg, let me explain: I love sports, not (((sportsball))) or (((niggerball))). I only pay attention to my (almost) all white high school sports, mainly football (which I played), and motorsports. I stopped watching pro and college sports over a decade ago, actually before they became super political.

I actually see the whole "they became way to political" thing as merely a symptom of a more fundamental issue. I stopped watching because "they" clearly were making the sports more like reality TV than, you know...a sport.

For instance, I like a good game. Doesn't matter if it's high scoring or low scoring. In American football, I'd love a 3-0 game just as much as a 103-100 game, and yet, ToUcHdOwNs ArE eXcItInG!!!!11!!11!! so the NFL and NCAA changed rules to make the sport of football more like basket ball. Oh, and the same wizards of smart also made them WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY to political. A move that's really, simply predictable for those dumbasses...

But still, I wonder what the "bigger problem" is that the title of the article refers to. Let's find out...

The gradual loss of interest in sports is a symptom of a larger problem, which is that Gen Z lacks both civic involvement and any interest in attaining it. This has been a significant factor in the erosion of the community fabric where Gen Z lives. As we spend an increasing amount of time tuned into our digital lives, many of us lose sight of the traditional forms of community that previous generations relied on.

Now, ironically, I'd agree with much of that...but of course the jew only laments this A.) in the sense it can't make money off them, and B.) way to fucking late. Hey boomers...that paragraph I quoted just now. You're finally acting like it's an emergency, but it's not. It was an emergency 10-15 years ago. You did nothing. Now it's a fucking disaster.

The boomer generation is quickly becoming the largest percentage of homeless people in America...GOOD! You not only deserve it. You earned it. Go starve, suffer, and die. We'll all enjoy watching it.

I honestly wouldn't have any issue with the concept of professional sports if it could somehow be un-jewed. By which I mean, an honest racial representation on the field, and if the average fan was just that: an average fan, not living and dying by what happens in a game. I guess I just appreciate the competition, but you're also talking to a guy who genuinely loves the high drama of curling...I'm not even joking.

The problem is that when the "Circus" loses effectiveness you are down to "Bread".

Find a single instance of the word "play" or "participate" in that article. Watching sports is framed as civic engagement.

If there is a problem here it would be in GenZ and younger not participating in any sports. That's probably also true but the article doesn't address it. We need young men participating in sports because it builds them physically and as leaders.

We should start with shooting sports if you ask me. ;)

Good point. Is there actually a problem with GenZ not playing sports? I'm genuinely asking because I guess I wouldn't know if there is.

My high school had an actual rodeo club that competed, but no shooting events if I remember correctly. Although now they do have a skeet team, so that's nice I guess.

The biggest thing that turned me against the NFL over the last 5 years aside from the whole woke movement is that quarterbacks's are all becoming niggers,,,, you just dont see White guys being pushed into the position anymore, its all niggers and its affecting the overall play

I'm convinced that the reason (((sportsball))) has become (((niggerball))) is no different than the (((reason))) every commercial is full of blacks. It's not that blacks are actually, naturally any more athletic than whites. If I had the time and resources, I'd do an in depth study on the sheer amount of money thrown at inner city athletic programs vs rural white America, and then look at where that money comes from.

BUT...

Specifically with the quarterback thing. I stopped watching before that, but for reasons I now see are related. I said in my post that "they changed rules that made football like basketball", and now I see why. To have more basketball american quarterbacks.

There's probably several Europeans who might read this and have no idea why this is so interesting. To understand American football you need to understand that, for all it's physicality, at the end of the day it's actually a thinking man's game, and no position does more thinking than the quarterback. That's why it was always comically funny that the QB position, until very recently, was always dominated by white players. But like I said, in my opinion they changed the rules to change the style of play so that now the role of QB is more "athletic" than thinking.

Very good point... thats one angle i never looked at but makes complete sense, they dumbed down the game for the nigger quarterback to "succeed"

I happened to live in Tennessee Vols country two seasons ago when they were one of the top ranked teams, and just to have something to talk about with the guys at work I went out of my way to pay attention to their games. I hadn't watched college football in 10 years at that point, and damn were the changes to the game so obvious to me. I mean, because they were so drastic.

Hardly ever run the ball with a running back. Basically get the "more athletic" QB out in space and make the defense decide if they're going to go after him, in which case he will throw, or cover the receivers, in which case he will run. I think the QB has to make about two mental calculations per play now?

This is why I like high school football...at least the way it is here in the cornfields. Run until you have to throw. Use an appropriate strategy based on each team's strengths and weaknesses, in consideration of whatever the game situation is.

I swear, watching college football that season was like watching two kids play Madden.

I was on my school's football team, mainly as a way to have fun and not be in class. And as a gen y, we had PCs, mobile phones, consoles etc as a kid, but we would still grab a ball and go out and start up some football in the park with the neighbourhood kids.

Not any more. Social media and much shorter attention spans has changed it all. The amount of people playing football has diminished. I imagine it will continue. This will have a knock on effect on those who watch football or attend games.

The most hardcore fans I see are all retirement age. 65-75.

Football will likely begin downsizing in the next decade. And lesser sports moreso.

Millennial, and I played football growing up, never really could get into gaming the way my friends did though. I was a kid for that somewhat amazing transition from non-online gaming to online gaming about the time the xbox came out. There was that brief period of time between the two where LAN parties were a thing I witnessed.

But yeah, I sort of noticed the "gaming lifestyle" became a common thing with the advent of being able to connect your xbox and playstation to the internet. Now I'm witnessing kids growing up with that and I wonder what effect that will have on them when it comes time to do adulting.

The Hunger Games was a dystopian horror; but I’d be placing bets left and right on that shit. Every other sport bores me to tears.

A bunch of niggers slamming each other why would I watch any of that shit.

Sports is fucking gay.

Play the sport don't idolize it. Be a man.
