Goats - Should I Buy This 1986 Trans-Am for $2,500?

Auto transmission & 120,000 miles.
Red interior & exterior.
Not a lot of storage or leg room because it has serious (boomer) pussy pull. Any chick that loves Motley Crue, Def Leppard & Guns N Roses will definitely drop her panties to ride in this.

But is all that crap worth the hassle of replacing parts & getting bad gas mileage...?

Let me know.

To store and savor, driving occasionally on weekends and then selling it at auction for ten times more = yes.

As a daily driver= no

If you're looking for a collectible, this isn't it.
There are better firebirds that dont require a second mortgage.

Second mortgage? It’s $2500

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 0 points 1.5 yearsDec 17, 2023 15:09:59 ago (+0/-0)

This is where literacy comes in handy.
I said this isn't a good or valuable example of the line.
I said there are better Firebirds that don't require a second mortgage, meaning you can find them and not have to take large loans to obtain them.

If you were so literate you would have noticed one interpretation of your figure of speech was that it was in reference to the 2500 car at hand.

We see now you intended to imply other, better, firebirds are also well priced.

No need to blame others for language short-comings.

I had one and this was the reason this car sucked.

This is why it's a no from me.

[ - ] JudyStroyer 4 points 1.5 yearsDec 17, 2023 08:41:22 ago (+4/-0)

One does not simply buy a ta in auto. He probably sucks a cock while he does it. Because that’s fucking gay hombre.

Not very well made cars but they are hard to find. At 120k, that engine is getting tired. If the rest of it is good it sounds to be worth it. I’d rather it was a Camaro from that year. If you like it, do it. The price is good.

Yes, my 2003 truck has 307k on it. The cars from the 80’s don’t usually make it that far. What year is your truck?

Paint it Black, put the airline steering wheel in and some other mods and pretend you’re driving KITT.

There are rather large obvious gaps in body panels, I suspect it has been reworked and repainted. But at $2500, if it runs decent you really don't have much to lose. I owned a couple of F-cars in the day, they were pussy magnets. They were fun to drive. Suck in slick conditions though.

[ - ] Niggly_Puff 1 point 1.5 yearsDec 16, 2023 23:55:31 ago (+1/-0)

It looks cool, like that red.

If it's something you'd enjoy working on, cruising around on weekends , you know like a hobby thing why not ? If you can spare the 2500 and have some money to play with to fix shit that needs fixing could be fun
Let us know what you decide

Yes.

[ - ] gardella 0 points 1.5 yearsDec 17, 2023 12:30:12 ago (+0/-0)

no, look for a pre 1972, American car or truck with a 350/351 based engine. no smog equipment to foul air flow. no canbus systems to foul electrical. drive train parts are readily available and if look there are a ton of reproduction parts, that are built better than the originals.

79-80 ones are the best looking.

[ - ] texasblood 0 points 1.5 yearsDec 17, 2023 07:18:24 ago (+1/-1)

NO it's a literal piece of shit.
SMOG MOBILE we called'em.

Good luck finding parts

Dodge made Trans-Am back in the day. It came with a 340 6 pack. Then Pontiac made T.A.. A buddy of mine had that car. I wanted it bad but they only made 2k or so of them so it was above my pay grade at the time. It was a wild ass green color. It sounded amazing and rode and drove like a dream.

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 0 points 1.5 yearsDec 17, 2023 00:27:30 ago (+0/-0)

Only if its a 350 motor.

I had the 350 Formula version back then. I had more taterhole than I knew what to do with. But then on a fateful night a beer jumped right out in front of me.

Corvette 5.7 Liter L98 Engines, which I had first. Later I bought a 1989, Pontiac made a limited edition 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am, which was the Indianapolis 500 Pace Car that year. The 20th Anniversary model featured the 3.8-liter turbocharged Buick engine used in the 1987 GNX. Befoe I owned either of these two cars I had an Iroc Z Camaro.

One of the most badass motors I ever built up was the Chevy 373. Mean MF. I put a Chevy “King of the Hill” C4 Corvette ZR-1 with the LT5 in a 1984 Chevy Silverado with 6" suspension and 6" body lift running 35's. That MF was a beast! It was top 3 fav vehicles that I've owned in my life. The sound of it was the most beautiful thing I ever heard. Little punks would pull up beside me at red lights in their Mustang, rice burner or whatever and wanna race. I'd grab 4WD, float and dump second gear(had a 6 spd aluminum tranny in it) and jump about 20 feet, grab 3rd and disappear leaving them in embarrassment and wondering wtf just happened. The Edelbrock carb was the size of a 16" car tire. lol

A beer jumped out in front of you?

You meant to spell bear, right. A bear jumped in front of you while you were leaving your good buddy Owen benjewman's place after a long day of room wacking! LOL!

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 1 point 1.5 yearsDec 17, 2023 11:40:47 ago (+1/-0)

I'm not an owen benjewin cult member and do not room whack or send the fat kike money. I expose him and warn retards about him.

Cool car, but at 120,000 miles is not worth it. Too many parts to replace. Anyway, show it to a mechanic to see how many parts are needed to be replaced.
