This "recall", like many other Tesla recalls, is an OTA software update. No need to bring it in. Tesla has to call it a recall because regulations.

Or it's an advertisement made for the audience that doesnt Tesla's... And most people are just too retarded to understand social engineering

The present state of humanity is such that people have been so dumbed down and deluded, including Musk, that they actually believe that a vehicle will safely pilot itself....Barnum & Bailey won't even hire those clowns.

If they can remotely pilot a drone on the other side of the world, why not remotely driven cars for drivers with extra money?

I have 65.6 hours in Euro Truck Simulator 2. A little less boring, but not by much.

...auto pilot works when there's plenty of space for forgiveness but I'd be fucked if I'm going to trust it to stay within a "minimal margin of error" ie the center line and the shoulder of a highway...the wheel flange of a locomotive is supposed to maintain position on the rail and still trains derail.

Yes, but I'm suggesting an auto pilot as a backup, with a remote operator/driver as the primary controller. A number of legal issues would have to be solved first, but this will be coming if our current civilization survives.

@Sector2...look...technology is so far advanced today that a "fully autonomous" vehicle will be as common as a jew is in media...there's no 100% guarantee that the car's central processing unit, CPU, will glitch out due to some rogue frequency, it may only be a split second or it may be 10seconds, and a 7 axle semi is coming at you, honestly, I can't even sleep when someone else is driving.

It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to do better than your average nigger or women driver.

It's already there. And it will improve over time.

'recall' = internet update

Autopilot is meant to help with steering, acceleration and braking - but, despite the name, the car still requires driver input.

So why are still allowed to call it autopilot?

[ - ] oyveyo 1 point 5 monthsDec 14, 2023 08:48:49 ago (+1/-0)

Autopilots alleviate pilots/captains from constant course corrections but are not to be exclusively relied upon for navigation. You can't just set an autopilot and take a nap, you still have to be situationally aware of the "big picture."

Real pilots/captains know this, but when you give autopilots to the masses you're gonna have problems because people see the word "auto" and associate that with "set it and forget it." The term "autopilot" is universally understood by intelligent beings to be an assistive technology, not a replacement for responsibility.

Probably shouldn't have named your shit autopilot if it doesn't actually auto pilot. People will believe that shit. The same people who drive electric vehicles to save the planet.
