I've seen this some time ago. It could make huge changes for desertified regions by helping them retain water. I would like to see it deployed asap.

They conveniently brushed over the process of modifying the wood. Have they studied if the chemicals used in the process can cause problems in the long run?

I'm sure it would be used for goodness reasons.

Let's miniaturize these, drop them from chemtrails, put meth on the tips and watch all the animals and humans do a freak out.

Alfalfa is potentially the only local flora that is theorised to tolerate extreme Martian temps, rocky basalt regolith, volcanic pH soil w/ high chlorine and other extremes. But first we need a temp change from thousand of nuclear devices set off and to introduce Perchlorate-reducing bacteria (PRB).

It probably wont happen for a millennia and then it would be a one way trip due to gravity difference on human physiology.
