Well, I hurt my back something awful

It's pretty sad really. I work a physical job and I've been working on my car. Did any of that break my back? No. What broke my bad was laying on a pillow weird. It's like properly fucked up. I did fine at work yesterday. The real issue is sleeping. Every position feels like I'm properly fucking it up further. I know the spine is no joke. Once I get into a position that is semi comfortable it's impossible to get out of without it feeling like I'm ripping my spine in two which means once I'm in bed I'm basically stuck and have to make multiple attempts trying to figure out how to transition out. If this persists one of these days I'm just going to ignore the pain, which I could do, and end up paralyzing myself. My assumption is things hurt for a reason, so I'm kind of letting the pain win hoping it gets better. But if I get sick of this shit I'm going to stop doing that.

This may not work for you, but when my back gets bad I lie on the floor on carpet or a rug and put my lower legs on a chair. In other words, the body position is like if I'm sitting upright on a chair, but my back is on the floor.
It may hurt, but I try to relax the muscles and let gravity straighten my spine.
It usually takes 3-5 minutes. I can hear and feel my vertebrae popping as the muscles respond.

There are a few really helpful chiropractors who help ppl via YouTube vids.
What literally saved me from insanity or suicide from sciatic nerve agony was a yoga pose that stretched the piriformis opening where that nerve runs.

Just be careful what form of supplements you take, most are repurposed chemical waste à la fluoride.

A molecule SIMILAR to the natural one is not the same at all, no matter how much chemists want to justify their existence.

It's definitely the case for Vit D & K, supplements are poison... hence why they insist on cutting the umbilical cord as early as possible and injecting a massive dose of vit K. As for D, I just started digging down this rabbit hole, it seems that vit D tests are just an indicator of how long ago you were in direct sunlight, not an actual vitamin level.

Any recommendations for brands that offer it in powdered or liquid form? I don't ingest gel caps and it seems to be the most readily available from what I'm seeing right now.

Supplementing B vits has helped me a lot as well. Both in healing and injury prevention.

See a doctor if the pain doesn’t stop after a day or two…maybe three. If doc says go to chiropractor ignore that bullshit.

Are you alternating ice and heat? The ice helps the inflamation which is what is causing the pain. Temporarily take some tylenol. Hot showers and stretching the area will also loosen up the area. Stretching exercises online for the the area your back pain is located.

Qualify "broke my back"...it it back spasms (can't stand without feeling a stabbing pain) or something like a slipped disk (weird warming sensation and pain afterward)?

Sometimes its not wise to ignore pain.

I get back pains for the same reason sometimes. Takes a few days to work itself out. I think that when you relax while sleeping, your spine adjusts and ends up pinching a nerve. Do your best to stand with correct posture and take hot showers with the water on your back. Hot tub might help.

Few weeks ago I cut down two huge dead oak trees. Diced them up, ran tons of logs thru the splitter, wheelbarrowed the splits across acres of land and piled the brush for burning. No problems.

Reached back to wipe my ass the next day and I was suddenly a cripple. Backs get funny around the age of 50.

You can try a gravity table. They're affordable. or get yourself a tens unit(shock). There's also some stretches you can do. Get them from a physical therapist website. They help a lot. If you go to your doc then don't get referred to a chiropractor. Go to a physical therapist

I bet you over did it yesterday. A few years back, was cutting up grapple length cord wood, busting balls running the splitter, etc. Was sore at the end of the day, but shit I used to frame / roof houses so didn't think much of it. The next day was working on my car in the garage and went to reach for a rag and froze up, lightning bolt pain, could only lay on the bed for a full day after that. When you tweak your back, your muscles freeze up in a protective mode to keep you from doing more damage

Stop eating all inflammatory foods and go full carnivore. Eggs, butter galore, bacon, hard cheeses, a little chicken and tons of beef with fat. Fat is the shit. Redmonds salt a must. Bone broth using a pressure cooker for electrolytes

eat bone broth and gelatin. the nutrients in there literally heals your joints and bones back up to normal

How old is the bed you are using? I went about 15 years with a foam mattress. While not even remotely like your problems, I was feeling like too many positions were stressing my back and spine.

After I got flooded, I immediately bought a new bed, and not even a good one. Some $500 one. It is still way better than the previous bed.
