Were they actually planning on blowing something or someone up?
Because you can find info on how to make explosives like nitroglycerin on youtube, and I've yet to hear the channels get into trouble beyond one going to far and getting a warning, he made too much.
So it would be rather odd if he got ten years for just wanting to make explosives. Also beyond binary explosives being legal for personal use, certain explosives have legal limits that can be produced without needing a license.

I guess you could get into trouble for making the bomb but not the explosive. Tannerite targets are fine, but detonators for something like a binary explosive mining charge do require a license.

That's actually how they do a lot of this crap though. They make a post "anonymously" and take a pic of it. This is now evidence of conspiracy. Doesn't matter if you have the idiot blocked, never talked to them, they get insta-banned in 1/2 a second, or even know if they existed.

The courts don't care if it's fake shit, the judges are too old and bought to care to understand "technology", and nobody in the court room will care about fair trials or anything of the sort.

Doesn't take much for them to charge you with "conspiracy to defraud the U.S. by manufacturing, distributing, possessing and storing explosives without ATF licenses"

Fair point. I've had some decent discussions with him over the years and he wasn't a dumb guy. Except as soon as I would use his own logic to paint him into a corner he would always divert and return to the same old script. Weird account just based on persistence alone.

That he never adapted and tried different tactics to achieve whatever his goals were was in fact retarded. People speculated it was multiple users but I never really got that impression.
