Are you sure they weren't retconned into christians later because christianity hadn't been invented by Josephus Flavius yet? I mean, it's not like there was a real person named Jesus Christ.

Well, it's in Acts.
As in "Acts of the Apostles".
The Apostles were Christian Jews.
So, Christians accept that the Romans persecuted Christians in Rome, who were, that time, Jews.
