Note- these are the people from voyager 1, but most of them worked on 2 as well. 2nd note- that must be the janitor or the owner of the 7-11 down the street in the second row on the right…..
In any kind of system like this you design for bad commands to be executed and revert if the execution causes unexpected results -
because people cannot reliablely do a repetitive task. No matter how many decades of experience you have at even a simple task, eventually you will make a mistake.
It's a little surprising they wait 79 days to revert, but it no doubt makes sense - maybe to conserve energy
It's probably due to old technology that they have to wait that long, with newer tech if commands adjusted the antenna you'd expect skepticism of new commands and a signal seek function to occur on lost communication.
Voyager 2 is “programmed to reset its orientation multiple times each year to keep its antenna pointing at Earth,”
The Elders knew that gen z would devolve into the planet of the apes, so they installed fail safe protocols so that Voyager would still be working when civilization finally comes back on line.
Magical space communications work on solar power and defeat the signal noise from the furthest reaches of the solar system... Also, immune to radiation...

It's not temporary, anything that is actually important or involves real thinking is outsourced to places like Jet Propulsion Labs etc.

Voyager 2 was expected to encounter the galactic current sheet any day now.
Perhaps it did and they disabled the probe to keep the data hidden

Meanwhile it's now pointing at an alien planet who is sending it commands to never point back at Earth.

Somehow its avoided mechanical failures, space junk and other objects, not to mention being exposed to whatever radiation and shit is out there.
It's not surprising that people think it is all fake and gay.

I wonder if they included a message on the craft
“Danger! Beware of the third rock from the nearby star, ! It’s infested with niggers”

The Voyager spacecraft use nuclear power, you 'tard.
