LOL. Electricity.

submitted by AnmanIndustries to Australia 10 monthsJul 16, 2023 04:48:23 ago (+10/-0)     (Australia)

"From 1 August 2023, the rates and charges on your Nothing Fancy plan will change. We estimate the yearly cost of your electricity will increase by $1,348 (GST incl)^. Your new (and current) rates and charges are displayed below."

About 50% increase due to:

"Why is the price of my electricity changing?
It's predominantly due to unprecedented supply challenges and volatility in the Australian energy market, which has caused wholesale prices to rise. Changes in network, environmental and retailing costs have also contributed. If you want to know more about the causes of energy price changes, click the link below."

That's one hell of a volatile market.

environmental

There's your climate change tax. Enjoy your NWO and future lockdowns.

Better try to avoid using to much electricity else The State will put you in prison and jab you some more.

Sounds like a ChatGPT useless answer. Funny how these things never cause a 50% drop in prices.

Listen people who live on boats get along with two solar panels an inverter and a couple of batteries. Boats are completely self-sufficient these days. They can create their own water and they create their own electricity.

There's absolutely no reason you can't hoarding off a room or two of your house and make it completely self-sufficient just like a boat. Couple of solar panels not attached to the grid with batteries and an inverter means you can live just fine with no connection to the outside world if you choose or if you're forced to or if rates get too high.

The only reason you have to have such a high bill in the beginning other than overcharging is it you've been convinced you got to live in a big house that you have to keep air conditioned or heated and it has to have all these different electrical gadgets in them all of which are eating half an amp of power while you're not even using them. Turn all that crap off. Unplug it all that's the only way you can stop them from using power unplug them all or put them all on actual switches that actually turn off. That's the beginning. people you're going to have to start doing it and it's better to do it now before you use all your money up on energy bills.

$50,000 US for a used 30 foot fiberglass Bluewater boat minimally outfitted. Maintenance and marina fees paid will quickly add up to more than the cost of the vessel. It’s not much more expensive to buy and operate a fuel efficient trawler. If you’re able to work on the boat yourself and keep it at anchor for free it is possible to check out of society and never work again with his little as a couple hundred thousand dollars of savings. You will never be able to afford to eat at a restaurant again but you will be free. Also, living on a boat usually sucks.

You don’t see many steel sailboats below 45 feet in the United States. Too much of a weight penalty.

I live at one of the main stopping points for the Caribbean liveaboard traffic. I’m pretty certain my numbers are good for East Coast United States.

We have some of the easier sailing here. Except for the hurricanes. There is alot of traffic on the East Coast to and from the islands to the south. Here are two random, crappy articles:

The solution is a tiny house with multiple outbuildings. The outbuildings can be built as “temporary structures” and will not increase your property tax burden.

When you close down your own coal plants but still sell your coal to china to burn. Because... MUH CLIMATE CHANGE!

"Around one-third of Australia’s coal-fired power stations closed during 2012–2017, with most of the remainder expected to close over coming decades. Current investment in generation capacity is primarily in the form of alternative power, especially wind and solar"

Over here its going to be for the grid to gas up the maybe 10 teslas that are running around.

You can also donate money to help pay a bill for those "in need". I laugh whenever that pops up in the winter. They really should make it like the african kid charities. Show me a picture and the letter from whom the bill is under saying how much this would help them. I'd probably throw in $2.00.
