when i was a kid my dad captured an armadillo and he was going to give it to me as a gift, thing is that the critter escaped but later on i found out that these can carry leprosy

Its an interesting point. Weve interfered with the natural evolution of dogs and other animals for our own benefit. But I think its a very mixed bag. Are we symbiotic with dogs? Do they parasitize us? Do we parasitize them? I think a case can be made for all three.

My guess is it was "adopted" because it lost its mother. Tragic but not a terrible thing for them to rescue it. Either live in a home with people who love it or die in the wild.

One of the more interesting experiments I saw was someone leaving speakers broadcasting the sound of rushing water in the woods near beavers.

It turns out where the beavers chose to make the dam was guided by the sound of the rushing water.

They would literally try to make a dam on the dry Earth near the sound.

My guess is to them the sound is like nails on a chalkboard so they constantly do anything they can to stop it.
