How to build a submarine that implodes

They dropped the dive weights and were trying to emergency ascend just before contact was lost.

So they knew it was happening and heard the creaking and groaning before the big boom violently disintegrated them in an instant.

The company knew this and still didn't contact authorities for 8 hours. Nearby sonar buoys picked up the explosion, so their fate was known on Monday and the whole week has just been theater to feed the media frenzy.

Edit - Some sources:

"We understand from inside the community that they had dropped their ascent weights and they were coming up, trying to manage an emergency," he said.

At 9.45am - an hour and 45 minutes into the dive - it lost contact with its mothership, the Polar Prince.

But it wasn't reported as missing to the US Coast Guard until 5.40pm, eight hours later. Canada's Coast Guard wasn't alerted until even later - 9.13pm on Sunday night.

In laminated composites, the adhesion between layers often fails first causing the layers to separate. For example, in fiber-reinforced plastics, sheets of high strength reinforcement (e.g., carbon fiber, fiberglass) are bound together by a much weaker polymer matrix (e.g., epoxy).

Last few seconds of the third video:

I actually believe they heard it with their ears, not through the sensor system, in the last moments of their lives. And that's quite a horrifying prospect.

Just like that bridge that was built in Florida that collapsed there was celebrated that it was built by women or just like that huge forest fire that was started by women who were trying to do a controlled burn.

Yep. You can have competence (and oxygen), or, you can have "diversity", but you can't have both.

[ - ] Hermes 9 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 10:53:19 ago (+9/-0)

The controlled burn is my favorite

[ - ] NoRefunds 10 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 08:56:44 ago (+10/-0)

They were coving up the Sam bankman story, hunter Biden, pentagon with $6.5 billion to Ukraine, oh wait all 3 of those are directly linked to president Biden oh well nice distraction

[ - ] mikenigger 3 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 10:26:57 ago (+4/-1)

i sure won't vote for hunter biden again!

The company knew this and still didn't contact authorities for 8 hours.

Likely hoping they would be able to retrieve the sub themselves quietly without a scandal. Until they couldn't.

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 7 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 09:20:20 ago (+7/-0)

...were they planning to serve dinner and wash dishes in that sub?

Sparkly eyed dreamers wishing...
-vs-
Grizzled, haggard engineers that consider reality an angry slippery bitch...

[ - ] PostWallHelena 3 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 11:11:38 ago (+3/-0)

Exceptthat women didnt build this sub as OP insinuates.

Apparently the white male CEO who was an engineer underestimated reality’s potential to be a slippery bitch.

[ - ] Thought_Criminal 5 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 11:20:36 ago (+5/-0)

He certainly came across as a sparkly eyed dreaming wisher type as well.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 4 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 11:30:58 ago (+4/-0)

He came across as not a woman as well. The leadership of this company was almost totally male. Theres one woman on the board with a marketing focus.

[ - ] Fascinus 3 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 12:50:50 ago (+3/-0)

white male CEO

Most likely (((fellow White))) male.

Someone posted an image the other day discussing his jewish faith as it related to oceanic exploration. Can't seem to find it.

I did find a few articles about how he was married to a jewess who descended from kike Titanic passengers.

Found this other article stating he's a kike with no source info.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 2 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 13:25:21 ago (+2/-0)

I dont think Stockton Rush was a jew, unless he converted for some chick. He had a long white moneyed pedigree including two declaration of independence signers.

SR was and engineer and pilot. The board of Oceangate was pretty heavy in old white guys with engineering, physics, piloting, military backgrounds. https://archive.is/jiUIP

Looks like theres one jew on the board and he’s the lawyer. Buck stops where?

Unless theres some brand new unheard discovery about the chain of events, this fuck up was caused by white guys that forgot to cross their Ts— not the eye candy OP posted. And probably not the jew’s fault either. The iew’s not in charge of carbon fiber hull integrity, you know?

[ - ] Fascinus 2 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 15:00:49 ago (+2/-0)

I dont think Stockton Rush was a jew

You could be right. I don't profess to know either way.

eye candy

Eh... Where? Behind those broads?

Oh, HELENA! Let us have our misogynistic fun!

[ - ] PostWallHelena 0 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 15:00:10 ago (+0/-0)

Im really a spoil sport. I declared the CEO to be not jewish either.

[ - ] GloryBeckons [op] 0 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 22:09:18 ago (+0/-0)

Oh, I'm sure they didn't do the heavy lifting. But "#engineeringPMs" implies they were put in charge of telling the men what to do. And "#innovators" and "#thought-leaders" implies they had a say in the direction of the company, far beyond just being "eye candy" as you insinuate (none of them are that sweet on the eyes, btw).

In any case, the point of the image was more about what a tweet like this says about the priorities of the company and its CEO, than about what each of these women did or didn't do individually. That's why I posted it in Diversity, rather than Women or something like that. Of course, you showing up to play Vagina Defense League is quite predictable.

[ - ] HeavyBrain 6 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 09:17:18 ago (+6/-0)

At least they didn't have to hire icky stupid old white men.

[ - ] kammmmak 5 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 07:59:22 ago (+5/-0)*

They knew for sure and waited hours and let all this media frenzy happen instead of setting the record straight. Typical women 101
And as incompetent as they were didn't realize their was equipment able to detect the implosion that was outside their control and would call them out.

I am surprised (((Davey Jones))) didn't install a woman as CEO to get more tax breaks. Maybe he would have sprung for two lights from Camping World.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 4 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 10:47:28 ago (+4/-0)

Well I think affirmative action is despicable.

But it really appears as though the fault of this disaster lies with the white male CEO Stockton Rush, who decided to be a nigger about quality control. So far, it does not look to me like muh wahmen caused this failure at all. You think these cupcakes didnt make a call to HQ right away? Bet the decision to delay contacting the coast guard was not made by them.

[ - ] Nosferatjew 0 points 10 monthsJun 24, 2023 02:20:51 ago (+0/-0)

white male CEO

Stockton Rush appears to be a jew:

who decided to be a nigger about quality control.

No, he decided to be a jew about quality control, probably because he was one.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 0 points 10 monthsJun 24, 2023 06:21:02 ago (+0/-0)

I checked out his background. He appears to be non-jewish. Theres no verification for the article asserting that he is jewish. Maybe his wife is jewish and he converted. His people appear to be well known whites, not jews. Hes a pilot and an engineer ffs.

[ - ] Artificial_Intelligentile 3 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 10:29:34 ago (+3/-0)

so back in 1960, scientists went down to 10.000 meters (33000 feet) in the mariana trench.

nowadays, the 3000 meters (9ooofeet) are too much of a challenge...

humanity is getting more stupid.

make Evolution Great again. kill the stupid.

10,911 metres

While at maximum depth, Piccard and Walsh unexpectedly regained the ability to communicate with the support ship, USS Wandank (ATA-204), using a sonar/hydrophone voice communications system.

These Oceangate faggots could have simply copied every aspect of this mission and been wildly successful. It probably would have cost much less than a dumbass carbon fiber vessel too. Pathetic.

[ - ] Boyakasha 2 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 13:03:09 ago (+2/-0)

These stunning and brave women crushed it!!

[ - ] Inward 2 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 10:41:08 ago (+2/-0)

Is there an article or something that confirms this?

[ - ] GloryBeckons [op] 1 point 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 18:28:39 ago (+1/-0)

Which part? There's many different pieces here, from different sources. I linked to three interviews with James Cameron in another comment, which cover some of the topics.

Here's an article about the 8 hour delay: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12214357/OceanGate-took-EIGHT-HOURS-report-missing-submersible-lost-contact.html

There were also a few interviews with a family friend on Sky News, I think, which were very informative. I forget his name, but he had a lot of interesting info because he was in direct contact with rescue services.

[ - ] GloryBeckons [op] 1 point 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 19:47:33 ago (+1/-0)

I added several sources to the OP, which should cover pretty much everything I said.

[ - ] Inward 0 points 10 monthsJun 24, 2023 15:31:26 ago (+0/-0)

Saw them. Thanks.

[ - ] totes_magotes 2 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 07:21:54 ago (+2/-0)

Carbon fiber does not fail slowly. It had a carbon fiber hull. There was no groaning or creaking or any other warning that told them it was failing.

[ - ] GloryBeckons [op] 10 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 07:45:34 ago (+10/-0)

And what dark wet hole did you pull that idea from?

Layered carbon fiber composite absolutely does fail gradually. By design and as expected, to the point that one of the safety features was to detect this gradual failure with sound detectors, before the sound was loud enough to hear. Clearly they underestimated how fast the failure would progress, and overestimated how much of a head start the early warning would give them. But it did fail gradually, and was audible before the end.

The implosion was nearly instant, once it happened. The failure leading up to it was not.

[ - ] HeyJames 2 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 07:48:52 ago (+2/-0)

Man I wish I had cameras in there like you apparently did

[ - ] GloryBeckons [op] 10 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 08:07:18 ago (+10/-0)

This is all based on publicly available information. I've just been autistically obsessed with this for the past few days.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 1 point 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 10:52:19 ago (+1/-0)

Clearly they underestimated

You mean the white male CEO? Or did the girl in marketing from the pic make that call?

[ - ] AryanPrime 1 point 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 15:40:41 ago (+1/-0)

"white" lower case w

not White, a kike

Why do kike whores like you postwall constantly pretend you are "fellow White people" despite the fact we all know you and the pilot are inbred covetous kikes

You desire Aryan genetics but will never possess it, so you attempt to destroy that which you cannot possess

you kike filth should be eradicated

[ - ] Sector7 2 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 11:02:42 ago (+2/-0)*

Given their sensors that were supposed to detect the initial stages of hull failure, they believed carbon fiber fails slowly. The only way those on the support ship would know they dropped the ballast for an emergency ascent was if someone on the sub told them. Which they did as the hull failure began.

The timeline of communication with the sub will come out, so we'll know how long it took to fail.

[ - ] TheBigGuyFromQueens 1 point 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 19:56:02 ago (+1/-0)

I guarantee that at least 3 of them make a mean PB&J.

It would be super cool if this stuff eventually lead to race/age/gender/sex being removed from all forms (maybe leave it on medical for scientific reasons) so a Heterosexual White Males could get through human resources without knowing someone and actually stand a chance at getting a job that they are qualified for.

Hello sunshine. How are you these days?

[ - ] Conspirologist 1 point 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 07:03:57 ago (+3/-2)

Interesting. How do you know this? I don't think they had the time to do anything. Implosion happens in a few seconds.

[ - ] GloryBeckons [op] 12 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 07:32:56 ago (+12/-0)*

The implosion, once it happened, would be so fast and violent that there's no time to process it. Milliseconds rather than seconds.

However, leading up to it, the carbon fiber composite hull would have made sounds. It was 5 inches thick, consisting of many layers of carbon fiber set within some form of epoxy. Similar to the glass fiber hulls of most modern yachts. As the pressure of the water delaminated the layers, gradually tearing them from each other as it forced its way in, it will have made a lot of increasingly loud noises, before enough of the layers were compromised to cause the catastrophic implosion.

One of the "safety features" of the sub were sound detectors attached to the inside of the hull. The idea was to pick up these sounds early, before they were audible, to provide enough time to ascend before it was too late. Clearly, this didn't work out. Towards the end, you wouldn't need a sound detector to know what is happening.

James Cameron had a lot of insider info on this as it was unfolding, and talked quite a bit about it to various news outlets after they found the wreckage:

I'm pretty sure they had enough time for adrenaline to kick in realizing they were about to die.

[ - ] totes_magotes 5 points 10 monthsJun 23, 2023 07:22:30 ago (+8/-3)

He doesn't. The "cool kids" (aka retards) claim things on here without any source or evidence in an effort to retardify the rest of the users.

Nah OP is right.
