You are foolish if you are not packing some sort of large caliber in remote regions such as this. It's also commonly known that sometimes people go "bear hunting" and return with less people than they left with. Remote areas can be lawless in that way when nature is a scapegoat.

Probably hates guns as well. Well I hate getting eaten by bears since they will eat you while you're alive taking nice chunks out of you, removing your arms and legs first.

Yeah almost impossible. I just wouldn't go that far out in the bush without my 12 gauge. At least some bear spray, a crossbow and some diapers if I couldn't get a gun.

I was visiting friends in that area and headed off to ride a local well known trail. A couple klicks in I came across a bear on the trail ahead of me. I turned around. Speaking with my friend later about it he mentioned that when he encounters a bear while running those same trails he just goes around them. That was a few years ago, The guy is still alive which just goes to show something I guess.

Go three miles east of bear lake to summer lake, there's a another single girl in the middle of the lake with a streetview pic. Possibly others in the camp by the smoke...

If there's cell service there, they could be like that Russian girl in the woods who called her mom to say: "Mom, the bear is eating me." (search quote for links)
