Here's a brief excerpt from a video on how to improve your cursive handwriting.

The original video is here: https://vid.puffyan.us/watch?v=q6rfoRiWa8A or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6rfoRiWa8A

Writing solely on a computer every day has ruined my once beautiful cursive writing. Hopefully this advice will inspire you to improve or regain your handwriting.

Anytime I journal notes for myself it is in cursive. I find it fast enough to keep up with transcribing verses to go along with the sermon notes. Just a habit of committing things to memory.

Just a habit of committing things to memory.

Actual science backs you up here. Writing shit down greatly increases retention.

I have always written very well in cursive. Having spent years handwriting contracts, I taught myself to print-write very quickly and legibly in all caps. This itself is a whole other skill and style of its own. As an employer of people all younger than I, I am constantly amazed at how literally no one can hand write in any form these days. And, by younger than I, I mean people from their teens up to their thirties. The few in our employ in their forties can write correctly. Women seem to be better than men, even if their letters look like cartoons.

Typing > handwriting

Typing, when done by an expert, is faster than writing. This does not mean it is better. There is a vast difference between punching a key and forming the letters/words yourself. The memory formed by writing is stronger than typing. Efficiency is not always the best goal.

The memory formed by writing is stronger than typing.

This is why you practice handwriting when learning a new language.

I find typing to be significantly faster then handwriting. It is also easier too, if you practice it like with anything else. I do suppose though, I cannot fault anyone for prefering to handwrite. I just prefer typing
