Seems an artificially low estimate. When earths population more than triples in your life to date, you can know we're doing that boom/bust cycle some of the other mammals do.

Perhaps AI won't have a chance before we frontrun it? If not, that superior intelligence we've given everything will tear through us like ferrets in a henhouse.
