Flimsy estimates have legal long arms at just over 1,000,000 and handguns figured at 540,000 (+ -)...illegal firearms are unestimated except for the hypothetical variable of 40% of legal gun owners each secretly possessing 1.7 unregistered weapons (most likely handguns,short barrel revolvers being preferred)...note...one can't own 1.7 firearms but for ratio purposes the formula for averages ends with "1.7".....in other words, with respect to the "thousands" of firearms collected, that's fuck all....
