I've stopped reading the news completely

Since about two months ago and it's been great. Before that I used to check several news sites about 20 times a day. I absolutely do not miss it at all. You don't need it in your life.

I say about Voat / talk.lol what rush Limbaugh said about his own show. Voat is the only news source you need. If it is important it will be talked about on Voat

I still read the news, but I digest it completely differently than I did six years ago. I'm fully aware that it's still bullshit and lies, with maybe a shadow of truth if you can even call it that. I think it's good to know what they're lying to us about currently, because even the lie betrays them.

And I only listened to msm after 2010 in a useless attempt to refute and warn others

Not where I live. Where I live, the weather can be pretty deadly. Unless you plan on living in the house all the time, you need to know the forecast. That's less important in the warm months.

I have had to take long breaks recently. You don't want to keep your head in the metaphorical sand, either. Keep tabs, but lose the mental baggage from the things in life that you personally cannot control.

Congratulations though, if you're able to quit the news then by definition it at least wasn't too late.

Disregarding the legacy news feels like something I did around 2012 following the GamerGate events. To this day it amazes me that one uppity bitch revealed the corrupt system over a shitty sim, and anons found out that it wasn't just the gaming news.

I sometimes scan local news headlines. It's good to be able to join conversations with people who live around you and be seen as someone who's knowledgeable and engaged. When people see you that way then they start off respecting you and giving your opinion a fair shot when you offer them red pills.
