Wish I could post the cockpit vid instead, but I made this pilot. (with a little help)

Took him and his mom up when he was 2 months old. He slept the whole time, but went on to get his pilots licence at 16. After training is over, he'll be in the F/A-18 Hornet or the F-35.

You too could create new humans.

Hopefully not. Working on it.

Great job. All 3 of you.

My childhood dream was to fly F-14s. Top Gun was only partially to blame. I started flying lessons at age 14. My dream was shot down early on due to bad eyesight.

I'm glad your boy is living the dream.

Thanks. I'm not thrilled that's he's in the military, but he has been working towards this for some years now. Without doxxable context, I'll just say he was #1 in California.

That's awesome. I live near the Lockheed factory and everytime I got fishing f35s always zoom over the lake. I always look up and wonder how badass their life must be.

I've only flown single engine planes, but flying itself is one of the coolest things ever. Being in the military is a lot less cool. However, it sounds like being a military pilot comes with privileges I never experienced as a ground pounder on the east German border.

Interesting. I wonder if you were stationed with my dad.

I've always dreamed of being a pilot. Wanted it almost more than anything. Almost as in I spent my youth being a hellraiser instead of doing anything productive. Hopefully I can begin lessons at the local airport later this year or next. Really want that PPL.

I left and returned "to the world" in 76. There were a lot of us there, but it's possible. Ask him if he remembers that quoted toast. The 'world' being the US. We were essentially 'outside the environment'.

Many airports have special programs for aspiring young pilots. If you're older, it's going to cost a bit. A Cessna 152 was $25 per hour wet when I learned to fly. Same plane is around $120 per hour wet now. Wet, meaning gas is included. An instructor is additional. Most of them are working on increasing their flight hours to work their way up the pilot ladder.

Call your local flight school. They sometimes have special deals on 'intro' flights.

I'll ask him next time we talk. The timeframe fits.

Yeah, not getting any aspiring young pilots' assistance, that's for sure. I'm prepared to drop about 20k into basic VFR and maybe more for single IFR if need be. Time is the bigger factor.

In the late aughts, I remember deciding to go to a major flight school, but family and scholarships wouldn't have been enough help. At the time, the school was estimated $75k/yr for tuition. Decided to wait. The next year it was $90k, the year after $110k. It was heartbreaking to watch, and still one of my few regrets.

That is a lot of money. If you're looking at a career, I'd suggest you investigate AI advances, and a reduced need for human pilots. Would have sounded crazy not too long ago, but the field of AI seems to be accelerating.

Called up my dad. He was stationed in Heidelberg in '72 and never heard that toast; probably came later.

Not looking for an aviation career anymore; that ship has long sailed and the industry is shit with vaxxtards now. I'm doing okay careerwise, but am always looking for places with greener pastures.

That school was a full career course. It was ATP in South Fl. Just checked their program cost out of curiosity and it has actually come down to $97,000. I don't need all that. Just VFR and IFr for single rating and join a club so I can fly out camping with friends or melt stress off on sunny days.

I was in Aschaffenburg in 75/76. It's on a sharp bend in the Main river, about 20 miles SE of Frankfurt. We used to do exercises on the border, and got within about a 1/4 of the fence and border. Series of fences. A number right there, with minefields and auto machine guns, with 30ish foot tall concrete towers every half mile or so. Top was a large concrete 'pill' with windows all around. They'd watch us through binoculars. Spent the coldest night of my life there on the border.

Get started ASAP so you can start having flying fun before you're old.

Cool. Good stuff. I actually really really appreciate original user content.

Can you make me a pilot?

Looks pretty unlikely. I haven't had a real life conversation with a non-clerk female in years. That's how it starts, then the next thing you know they're in your life and stuff is going off the rails.

Then he can go fight wars for the fuckin kikes, yay

Hopefully not, but note that's just an extra percent or two beyond most civilian lifestyles. Think about how many people literally work at jobs as employees, then donate a percentage of their earnings to the ZOG so it can maintain control of its herds.

There are even people on voat who know about the kikes, but still pay them anyway. "We want to help them maintain their power over us!"
