Cleopatra VII, the last active Hellenistic ruler of the Macedonian-led Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, with minor Persian and Sogdian Iranian ancestry.

Cleopatra was a direct descendant of Alexander's general, Ptolemy I Soter, son of Arsinoe and Lacus, both of Macedon. A Greek by language and culture, Cleopatra is reputed to have been the first member of her family in their 300-year reign in Egypt to have learned the Egyptian language.

It's fun to imagine a silk rug being laid at your feet and a beauty like that rolls out of it.

Wasn’t the carpet trick with Julius Caesar? Or did she make a habit of having herself delivered to men in that way?

[ - ] UncleDoug [op] 1 point 1 yearApr 20, 2023 10:34:46 ago (+1/-0)

The idea of Cleopatra being presented to Caesar rolled up inside a carpet is a modern misconception resulting from a mistranslation of the Greek word στρωματόδεσμον in Ploutarchos’s account. It is unclear whether even Ploutarchos’s original story is true, since it may be a legend. Ploutarchos was, after all, writing well over a century after Cleopatra’s death.

I often mistranslate that word.

I'm curious about the bust, since I thought we didn't have any of her. I didn't think we had any portraits either aside from her face on coins, but that portrait looks enough like the coins that I don't question it.

All the other facts you mentioned line up with what I know about her.

She was also reputedly very petite.

Green Bassalt Caesar & Cleopatra in the Altes Museum, Berlin

The marble bust of Cleopatra is dated to sometime between 40 and 30 BC, so executed in her lifetime. It was recovered on the Via Appia between Ariccia and Genzano – where, it is thought, it would have decorated a private villa.

Caesar and Cleopatra

Many cases also report her to be petite, 5ft tall, and Auburn to dark blonde hair (basically describing ginger) and blue eyes like her Macedonian slave/servant Neva. She often wore bright green malachite paste for eyeshadow.

Just like the word orange didn't exist until the 15th century it was referred to as yellow-red. Cleopatra's hair was called (dark red/blonde) aka ginger.

Without any doubt, Cleopatra was definitely White.

Its always good to include the source for a reconstruction like this. Who made this and what facts were they working with? Are there accounts of her natural hair or eye color? How likely are her portraits/sculptures to be idealized?

A quick dive into the resources on the Ptolemies reveals they were very hellenic in their ancestry and dont appear to have mixed much with the people they ruled. So they would have had alot of “steppe herder” ancestry, imo. May have had lighter skin/eyes/hair.

Also it appears they were very inbred by the time we get to Cleopatra VII. Siblings marrying siblings for successive generations. The Hapsbourgs have demonstrated that this does not result in good looking kids.

Per wikipedia
Contemporaries describe a number of the Ptolemaic dynasty members as extremely obese,[16] whilst sculptures and coins reveal prominent eyes and swollen necks. Familial Graves' disease could explain the swollen necks and eye prominence (exophthalmos), although this is unlikely to occur in the presence of morbid obesity. This is all likely due to inbreeding depression. In view of the familial nature of these findings, members of the Ptolemaic dynasty likely suffered from a multi-organ fibrotic condition such as Erdheim–Chester disease or a familial multifocal fibrosclerosis where thyroiditis, obesity and ocular proptosis may have all occurred concurrently.

Im doubtful she was a great beauty.

I can't share this because of the completely mangled spelling of Herculaneum.

You know, a city traditionally held to have been founded by Hercules? Not cleaned by Hera?

You can't BTFO Jews or anybody else if even ethnic nationalists can't get European history, culture, and language correct. It makes you look like their stereotypes about you.

Come on, people. This isn't even the censored shit. We have to get it right.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 2 points 1 yearApr 20, 2023 12:00:02 ago (+2/-0)

Herculaneum was previously a greek city named Heraklion. The greek name for Hercules is Heracles, because he was named for Hera. There are probably a dozen different variations on the spelling of this town. In fact we dont even know if its referring to the town near Pompey, it could be another town entirely, as they used the same names for towns over and over.

lol I mean, sure, but you and I both know that's not what's going on here.

My argument is that shit like this matters, and will be used to call us bumpkins while they tear down another statue.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 2 points 1 yearApr 20, 2023 12:33:18 ago (+2/-0)

Fair enough. I did yell at him for not citing his source, which I find annoying. Alot of “red pilled” sources are faggy and unreliable.

People have called me jewish for insisting on sources but I feel it’s the white thing to do.

Herculaneum was an ancient Roman town, located in the modern-day comune of Ercolano, Campania, Italy that was buried under the 20m of ash from the Mount Vesuvius eruption in AD 79 from massive pyroclastic surges and ashfall deposits.

It is a real place and a holiday residency of Cleopatra.

Who gives a stuff if the meme title is titled Hera-cleanum instead of Heracul-unaem?

[ - ] parrygrin 0 points 1 yearApr 20, 2023 12:19:31 ago (+0/-0)

Every ancient European who lived and died there. The preservation of European culture starts with us.

Also like... normies, and more importantly their kids. Cultural continuity is compelling. It's also what Mao destroyed in the Great Leap forward and what they're trying to do here.

If you care about memes... Hercules is a meme. Maintaining the linguistic continuity also maintains the memetic continuity, and thereby maintains the cultural continuity.

This not just elitist egghead bullshit. We have real cultural inheritances than we need to maintain.

I am not on my desktop today and can't make the edit. If you do and give me a link, I can spread this far and put it in front of normies, thereby dunking on Netflix and showing globohomo for the cultural locusts they are.

I’m not sure about the eyes. How did they get that data? Other than that, yes, persians and even modern Iranians look like that.

[ - ] carnold03 -4 points 1 yearApr 20, 2023 07:33:44 ago (+0/-4)*

Cleopatra and most of the Ptolemaic dynasty were inbred psychopath heathens, no less so than any of Egypt's other ruling dynastic lines. Their civilization is quite literally dust in the sands of time for reasons I don't envy and we're all the better for it. That cultural subversion agents are so eager to conflate being born on the African continent for being sub-Saharan African shows how little effort they need expend to draw you into their frame of thought in their effort to dehumanize and diminish ethnic Europeans and Africans, into "white" people and black people.
