Refoamed my new to me Peavey case recently.

Picked up a 1983 T-15. It's a 23½" scale youth guitar. It's set up like a jazzmaster and sounds pretty unique on account of the "Super Ferrite" pickups.

It's pretty slick!

I've got a microfiber towel on order and plan to line the yoga mat foam in that, I think it'll turn out alright! Better than that nasty, dissolved foam from 1983 anyway.

Nice, deep cutaway, looks supremely usable. I'd like to hear a clip of how that sounds!

Thanks, yeah it's a sweet little guitar. The T series from peavey is full of similarly shaped guitars, with the flagship model being th T-60. Which for years was a dirt cheap sleeper guitar, but people finally caught on and pristine models can fetch up to 1800 shekels.

I might upload a little clip soon, but if you can't wait there are some decent clips out there currently.

Have you tried Yousician?

[ - ] Hall_of_Cost [op] 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 27, 2023 18:58:42 ago (+1/-0)

No, I haven't. I just learned from friends when I was younger and now I practice some things from books. I hit a plateau and for years didn't really get much better, books have helped me add variety to the lead riffs and rhythms that felt tired and worn out for me.

I recommend it. I had a very similar story. Got yousician. I am a far better guitar player now.

Huh, kinda looks sorta/maybe like a rocksmith ripoff for phone.

Is that a laser disc player I see?

No, it's probably just my shitty record player or printer you're talking about.

Not knocking it. During the big Texas freeze when my internet was out; old DVD player and PS4 wouldn’t play DVD’S because it couldn’t connect to the internet. Into the attic I went. Came down with boxes of laser discs and an ancient player onto which mud dobbers had built an apartment. It worked. Old tech saved the day.

That's where books come in for me. We've had power go out for about an hour about 3 times in the last 10+ years here. It was a 94% White area, but like everywhere it's slowly becoming more jungle-like.

I should block you for this. I feel like you did it on purpose. I won't though, I'll use this as an opportunity to teach you something.

Did nobody tell you how violent it is to misgender someone? Watch your micro-transgressions. Seriously

I'm a nonbinary genderdluid pansexual gender-nonconformist marshmallowkin, and a red balloon. This is your last warning.

Another thing; I don't even play the bells, smartass. I play the guitar!

Im surprised you bought the 4th cheapest and not the absolute cheapest mat for that job.

[ - ] Hall_of_Cost [op] 1 point 2.2 yearsFeb 28, 2023 00:11:37 ago (+1/-0)

I didn't want to, but the other ones seemed like they'd hold a lot more moisture. Of the ones there, this one was the cheapest that seemed the best for the job.

Didn’t know peaveys were that expensive.

[ - ] Hall_of_Cost [op] 0 points 2.2 yearsFeb 28, 2023 00:14:44 ago (+0/-0)

This one was a fair deal at 425, but yeah some of them do get up there in price. Mostly just the made in America stuff.

As long as you like it, doesn't matter what anyone else says. I just got an Epi 335 after trying several different semi-hollowbodies. Is nice, but there's sometimes a buzz that I can't get rid of. Still a decent guitar, and I enjoy it, but I'll see after a couple of hundred hours playing if it loosens up.

I really like the coloring on that guitar. The wood and the cream with the steel accents make it look cozy.

Yeah it's really cool in person. This is my first natural finish guitar and I'm glad I have one now. This guitar is so different from my other ones. I spent hours setting up the action and neck. These guitars have what Peavey calls a micro-tilt neck joint. This is actually advanced engineering compared to other similar guitars, like the Jazzmaster.

Setting up the neck is very similar, however with Jags, mustangs, and Jazzmasters you end up shimming the neck. There are yt videos and books dedicated to setting up fender offset guitars because it isn't intuitive at all. This peavey design tries to simplify it. I think they did a good job, but it still was a learning process. Overall, after trussrod adjustments and messing with the bridge and micro-tilt feature I think the guitar is where I want it to be.
