chatGPT code generation

so, i just did an experiment with chatGPT.

I asked it to develop a java web application with log in and log out and forum posts and an html/css/javascript front end, a mysql backend, all to run on Apache Tomcat.

the resulting code was actually quite decent (including pom.xml and web-inf). I had to guide it a small bit, as the output seems to be limited in length, but i think i will do this again and actually try to get a working application from it :)

we should build a new VOAT using chatGPT. which would be ironic seeing as how left-leaning the AI is :O

in some ways this is REALLY cool, but other ways is truly frightening. since AI has learned to code, there might not really be a future for coders.

not sure what you mean by generator. do you mean generating code from UML or the like? or do you mean an AI code generator?

those look pretty useful. i think they are using frameworks to develop custom apps. the chatGPT was generating on the fly, and i even changed gears at certain points and it re-created based on my inputs. for example, it started with spring, so i re-directed it to build pure java, then it was using JSP on the front end, and i redirected it to use only html/css/javascript. i could have kept going but i was hungry so i stopped for dinner. i was pretty impressed with how it worked and how well it understood what i was directing it to do,

Have it design a decentralized robot race of drones with the capability to repair themselves and recharge themselves in the air using solar power and have it have the ability to recognize certain human races. oy vey.

with a projectile launching device, or maybe a big spike and directives to impale the "enemy", and/or a small explosive charge that can separate a head from a body.
