I've been steadily promoted as high as I want to go and I do the bare minimum and give as little as possible. Work ethic is only if you run the business.

Sure do, it's challenging and rewarding to do my job. I have to plan things out like chess, and lots of trial and error. Doing neat cutting edge work with a nice budget is satisfying. Pay ain't shabby either.
