In all my years of being in Jamaica, I had a personal joke with my military and constabulary escorts/employees...I said to them "Mon, soon come to Jamaica you need a "fire permit" to buy "tyre"...I was joking but they took me for serious because the "game" was serious and when shit hits the turbine the first thing the pissed off factions do is block rds, with gas lit tyres, I remember when the Grand Paladium was under construction outside of the town of Lucea and the "garrisons" opened up with very pissed off blacks being treated like slaves, and they were, 18.5x25 loader tyre with petro dead center of the main hwy to the west end of the island, biblical black smoke, could not see anything and the bullets were flying blind right through and it was a major chimpout...I and my good friend, a JDF Captain, are a few hundred yards back and we're on 250 Enduro Yamaha dirt bikes, (best vehicle to run in the 3rd world is a bike, our Suzuki 4x4 wax 2nd best) and we've got an M16 and 40Berretta that we are not anxious to use because 3Rd world chimp out mobs don't give a fuck about anything, and there was over a hundred, plus plus plus our side of the smoke and they're looking back and forth between buddy and I and the chimp action in the smoke...after it ended hours later there was a big number of injuries, 3 dead and a big fucking burn hole in the black top...now get this, the burn hole exposed more government corruption in that the thickness of the bitumen cover was 2" less than what was paid for, and of course all these infrastructure projects are managed mostly by Indians and some Chinese but they're all funded by USAID and the UN...anyways I could on and on but it was the "tyre" spelling that set me off...one day maybe I'll touch on the epic spaz attack I had over a tick the size of my small fingernail that was half burrowed into the underside of my middle toe and I could not pull it out with tweezers and my Leatherman pliers would have crushed it while sticking half under my skin...one day maybe I'll tell the story.
