Did not have the luxury of taking a damn vacation! Come to find out that all of us that were laid off that day had rather large medical bills. The company we worked for was self insured. They did everything they could do to screw everyone that they had laid off. That stupid bitch doesn't have anything to be whining about.
I worked at this horrible place. Temperatures in the building would hit 120+ in the summer, they had signs telling us to eat salty things so we wouldn't pass out. They had one tiny little window in the back of this huge factory and you weren't allowed to look out of it. One of my co-workers had the tips of 3 of his fingers cut off. Another co-worker had one of her fingers crushed.
A new guy started working there, mid 30's. He never said much and stayed out of all the typical drama. He worked like a dog and was never a burden or problem for his co-workers as he worked fast and efficiently. We eventually found out that his wife had cancer and was dying, they had young children together.
Eventually his wife dies and he's given 5 days bereavement leave. The funeral is across the country where his wives family is from. He was supposed to be back the next Monday, but his flight got delayed due to weather. He called in and told them that he would be back a day late. My boss informed him that if he wasn't back on Monday, he would be fired. He was fired.
A week after he was fired I saw him walk into the factory to pick up his last paycheck, in tow was his three young children. I have never seen another human being so broken in my entire life. That moment still haunts me to this day. But yeah, the chink in the video seems to have it pretty tough too.
We (White males), created the infrastructure, applications, technology...just to have it turned over to these diversity hires. I know Irvine (lived there, worked there), it used to be behind the Orange Curtain of SoCal, a steadfast bastion of "Conservative" suburbs, aerospace and defense companies--rows and rows of White, safe neighborhoods. Then the messicans were shipped en masse and the asians we thought were our friends and had connections with. took our places and we were discarded.
Everything there is now asian or middle eastern. I'm so fucking happy this bitch got a small taste of what we've had to endure--and yeah, I got laid off over Christmas. Her "vacation" is (well I wish I could say her last attempt, but it won't be) a call to try and save the life she knew and 100% embraced. She doesn't see that the liberalism cult she's all-in on has made this happen; I have some asian acquaintences that suffer this same delusion.

Perfectly said. My biggest beef during all this covid hysteria has been how nonsensical it's all been. Places were implementing new rules that made absolutely no sense just to say that they were doing something. Like the arrows in grocery stores, or requiring masks at a restaurant if you're standing up but not if you're sitting down, or limiting store hours (which would actually increase customer population density since there's fewer hours available to go), or when Walmart etc wouldn't let anyone buy clothing or seeds or anything that was "nonessential". None of it made sense, but everyone just went along with it. I felt like the kid in the emperor's new clothes.
The world is"being made sucky" because of deglobalization. The government lockdowns were a cover for economic mismanagement and this is not a debate or hyperbole. You're supposed to think it was some scary disease out there killing people.
The people in charge didn't want to get blamed. That's it.
