Fill your kitchen sink with hot, soapy water, then let it down the drain while pouring more hot water in. This can help heat up old oil/grease and slide it further down the drain away from your house and hopefully into the city/town pipes. Then it's their problem if shit gets stuck.

It's a good way to use up a large amount of hot water anyways.

Drowning is too efficient. We need more absurd solutions like using dangerous amounts of an explosive gas or slow rendering them to get fat suitable for soap making.

People were also just figuring out that regular handwashing was an excellent way to combat the spread of contagious disease.
