In short, yes. I believe there is a false perception of preventative medical benefit, but that in actuality it is better just to have good hygiene and promote monogamy.

I believe circumcision is performed in many cases on religious grounds or ad hoc through religious culture and that the vast majority of the proponents claiming it has medical benefits are biased and themselves circumcised or inclined to prefer circumcision on the basis of religion. You need to remember too that in the Talmudic Jewish faith, subservient nonJews living in the land are also required to be circumcised. As much as we have seen Talmud-inspired laws infect Western justice systems, it follows that Talmud-inspired pro-circumcision propaganda is also likely to have been pushed through media to encourage the common person to circumcise male babies. All it takes is Judaized Christianity to take hold and suddenly circumcision becomes popular.

It's easy enough to trick a population into thinking something has medical benefits - we've seen that with the SARS2 jabs. But to actually demonstrate that something has medical benefits is an entirely different story.

My observation is that the value of circumcision as medical preventative measure is more or less a myth, and it shows in the flawed methodology of many of studies that are used to support that position. We can go through the studies if you'd like.

Yes, you can have conditions that in response can be resolved through removal of infected tissue, but proper hygiene is usually the key preventative action to avoiding those circumstances. Circumcisions performed in reaction to an infection are a different consideration than circumcisions performed in an attempt to prevent infection. We don't amputate healthy tonsils or appendixes even though those kinds of body parts could potentially become infected, one would think that the same logic should hold true for any body part.

Also consider that as much as "medical benefit" is used as an argument for male circumcision, in the Moslem world the same argument is used in defence of female circumcision. At what point do you draw the line to say that one is OK and the other one isn't?

Why not female circumcision too?

If you believe that Moslems perform male circumcision for medical benefits, would it not also follow that they also perform female circumcision for the same reason?
