I had a vet tell me, with a completely straight face, that one advantage to neutering my dog was that it would "help lower the risk of testicular cancer". I laughed, but he was serious. I stopped going to that vet.

Shit I never realized that. Both involve soft expectations, and are even encouraged. "Don't throw away your opportunity to be a teenager/college student and have fun in life."

I think it's a lack of drive. If you are passionate about something, you will take it seriously all your life and those wastes of time won't even be a lure. They destroy people's passion or obscure what being driven to do things is.
