The origins of political correctness lie within the ussr, when they started needing to deny reality, and pretend things were otherwise from how they appeared to be.

Political correctness was first intended as a standardized rule for public speech where you only said things that would be correct according to the political narrative, or repackaged on order to avoid undermining the perception of the political narrative, especially among the people.

It was explicitly and cynically contrasted with factual correctness, which was reserved for the more private conversations that required naked statements of truth to be shared in order to get anything done.

It's explicitly invented as a way to hide the truth, or to obfuscate it, or to make it seem more like how the government wanted it to be received by the listeners.

That's what political correctness is, it's also become a useful way to create confusion and produce a lot of people who are fanatical about their position on something that they only have a vague understanding of, by design, because politically correct language had ensured that no one would have a clear picture of the issue itself.

If people better understood how centralized an inorganic these things are, how they were pushed by tiny groups onto greater society, they would be better able to withstand these things. But this is a society that put women in the driver's seat, so all is lost.
