I've got a utility wall open and would like to prep it for central air in the future. Can I run a pvc pipe to the outside and trim it out. Then run an AC lineset someday later?

Well if you can get a straight shot use at least 2" or if there are bends use wide sweep corners or better yet bend the pvc with a heatgun so they can push a copper line through without it catching on the joints.
Not an HVAC fag, but I've probably flipped 20 houses over the years. Like Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing, Aroboriculture, etc... This is probably one of those things you want to pay a pro to do. Get it wrong and you are up shit creek.
