Any hvac-fags here?

submitted by ModernGuilt to whatever 1.7 yearsSep 14, 2022 16:40:55 ago (+2/-0)     (whatever)

I've got a utility wall open and would like to prep it for central air in the future. Can I run a pvc pipe to the outside and trim it out. Then run an AC lineset someday later?

If it's straight then yes; if it's not then run copper lines now. Ask a HVAC company what diameter lines to use.

Well if you can get a straight shot use at least 2" or if there are bends use wide sweep corners or better yet bend the pvc with a heatgun so they can push a copper line through without it catching on the joints.

(Not an HVAC fag, but a builder) You can but there's really no point HVAC fags would want to snake there own lines anyway.

Not an HVAC fag, but I've probably flipped 20 houses over the years.
Like Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing, Aroboriculture, etc... This is probably one of those things you want to pay a pro to do. Get it wrong and you are up shit creek.

also, if you can, put a small grade on it so if water somehow gets in there it will have a place to go.
