According to the FBI's 2020 Hate Crime Statistics report (the most recent data available), 56.1% of nationally reported religion-based hate crimes in 2020 targeted the Jewish community. In Florida, hate crimes against Jews accounted for 80% of the religiously motivated incidents in 2020
In 2021, the number of reported incidents increased 50% over 2020 numbers, rising from 127 to 190. This included 142 instances of harassment, 47 instances of vandalism and one antisemitic assault.
I really hate the word antisemetic because of how inaccurate it is. Semetic is a language group that includes arabs. It's not exclusive to jews who by the way forgot Hebrew and had to reinvent it. We have no way of knowing how ancient Hebew sounded. It's almost as if they didn't even come from Palestine.
That being said I'm certainly antisemetic. Fuck Arabs too.
A big reason why is they keep changing the definitions of things such as "hate speech" and "extremism" so that it covers a wider swath of what was already occurring. If they applied the same definition retroactively there would be no spike in rates.
