Damn I had to do that every day when I was a kid.

My school was built in the 1940s and had no air conditioning. The lunch area was covered, but when the temperature got hot, the break area was still pretty hot. I can see the reasoning behind making the students eat outside, but making them sit in the sun with no shade was cruel and unnecessary. My generation didn't experience central air conditioning in schools until they started to go to junior college. It was all just part of living in a hot region and we expected it.

It was never quite this hot, that I recall, but they did have us sit on the asphalt in the sun (we called it "black top") as punishment.

They literally were sitting, eating, and \gasp\ drinking fluids. Surely they'd die from... dehyd.. from starv... fucking clowns. They'd die from the fucking clowns.

They were directly under the sun with no shade. The punishment went too far.

For one class period. Not even 50 minutes. The absolute unmitigated horror!

That's right... circuses are three-ring orgies.

I'm with you. California is a dry hell heat. Seen locals walking around in sweatshirts in the afternoon sun in 100F.

It wasn't that long ago when kids in California were left unattended outside in public areas to do their schoolwork.

But yet now the parents are pissed??

How quickly they all forgot.
